Overview
JY402 is a small molecule dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor under development by Jinyang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. As a DPP-4 inhibitor, JY402 functions by blocking the enzyme responsible for degrading incretin hormones, specifically glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). By prolonging the activity of these hormones, the drug enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppresses glucagon production, thereby improving blood glucose levels. The candidate is currently in preclinical development and is part of Jinyang Pharmaceutical's metabolic disease pipeline.
