Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JY403 is a small molecule dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor currently under preclinical development by Jinyang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. By inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, JY403 prevents the degradation of incretin hormones, including glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). This action prolongs the activity of these hormones, which stimulate insulin secretion and suppress glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner, thereby improving blood glucose levels in diabetic patients. As a DPP-4 inhibitor, it is designed to offer glycemic control with a low risk of hypoglycemia and weight gain.
