Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JY404 is a small molecule dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor being developed by Jinyang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. As a DPP-4 inhibitor, JY404 works by preventing the degradation of incretin hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). These hormones play a crucial role in glucose homeostasis by stimulating insulin secretion and suppressing glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. By maintaining higher levels of active incretins, JY404 aims to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
