Overview
JY43 is a biosimilar of daratumumab, an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody developed by Hangzhou Jiuyuan Gene Engineering. It is specifically designed for the treatment of multiple myeloma by targeting CD38, a glycoprotein highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells. The drug exerts its therapeutic effect through multiple immune-mediated mechanisms, including antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), and antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP). JY43 is currently in Phase 1 clinical development in China. An improved formulation, JY43-2, which incorporates recombinant hyaluronidase for subcutaneous administration, has also received IND approval.
