Overview

JY509 is an allogeneic, "off-the-shelf" (universal) natural killer (NK) cell therapy developed by the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. It is designed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory pediatric B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). As a universal cell product, JY509 is intended to be administered to patients without the need for patient-specific manufacturing, potentially overcoming the logistical and temporal hurdles associated with autologous cell therapies. The therapy leverages the innate cytotoxic activity of NK cells to target and eliminate leukemic blasts. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 dose-escalation and expansion clinical trial to determine its safety profile and preliminary efficacy in the pediatric population.
