JY96 is an investigational nucleic acid therapy, specifically a small interfering RNA (siRNA), developed by Hangzhou Jiuyuan Gene Engineering for the treatment and prevention of thromboembolic disorders. It targets Coagulation Factor XI (FXI), a key component of the intrinsic pathway of the coagulation cascade. By utilizing RNA interference to reduce the hepatic production of FXI, JY96 aims to provide potent antithrombotic effects with a significantly lower risk of bleeding compared to traditional anticoagulants like warfarin or direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs). The drug is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development, representing a novel approach in the management of hematological and cardiovascular conditions associated with pathological clot formation.
