Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JZB07 is a biosimilar candidate of aflibercept, a recombinant fusion protein developed by Jiangsu Jingze Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of fundus neovascular diseases (FNDs). It functions as a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) trap, composed of the extracellular domains of human VEGF receptors 1 and 2 fused to the Fc portion of human IgG1. JZB07 binds with high affinity to VEGF-A, VEGF-B, and placental growth factor (PlGF), preventing these ligands from interacting with their cognate receptors on vascular endothelial cells. This inhibition suppresses pathological angiogenesis and reduces vascular permeability, addressing the underlying causes of vision loss in conditions such as neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME).
