Overview

JZP324 is an investigational, extended-release formulation of low-sodium oxybate being developed by Jazz Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of narcolepsy and other sleep disorders. As a central nervous system depressant, its therapeutic effects are hypothesized to be mediated through the modulation of GABA-B receptors during sleep. The formulation is designed to provide a once-nightly dosing regimen, which would represent a significant improvement in convenience over existing oxybate therapies like Xyrem and Xywav that require twice-nightly dosing. JZP324 was originally part of the GW Pharmaceuticals pipeline prior to its acquisition by Jazz Pharmaceuticals and is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
