Overview

K-134 is an investigational small molecule drug classified as a hydroquinolone derivative. It acts as a selective phosphodiesterase 3 (PDE3) inhibitor, exhibiting both anti-thrombotic and anti-hyperplastic activities. Its primary mechanism involves inhibition of PDE3, which leads to increased intracellular cyclic AMP levels in platelets and vascular smooth muscle cells, resulting in inhibition of platelet aggregation and vasodilation. K-134 has been studied primarily for the treatment of intermittent claudication associated with peripheral artery disease[1][3][7]. Preclinical studies also suggest potential neuroprotective effects by preventing thrombus formation in models of cerebral infarction[7].
