Overview

K-76 is a complement inhibitor developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases, particularly active-stage ulcerative colitis. In clinical evaluation, K-76 demonstrated efficacy as monotherapy in patients with active ulcerative colitis and showed benefit in some cases of refractory disease when used alongside corticosteroids and salicylazosulphapyridine. Its mechanism involves inhibition of the complement system, which plays a role in inflammation associated with conditions like ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease[6].
