K-877 + clarithromycin

**K-877 + clarithromycin** is a combination of two pharmaceutical drugs: pemafibrate (also known by its code name K-877), a selective peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) modulator, and clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic. Pemafibrate acts primarily to lower triglycerides and increase high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol by selectively activating PPARα, which regulates genes involved in lipid metabolism[1]. Clarithromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, primarily for the treatment of bacterial infections including respiratory, skin, and Helicobacter pylori-associated ulcers[2][3][5].
