K1.1c-mRNA-LNP is a preclinical investigational anticancer therapy developed by Sunshine Biopharma for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and potentially other solid tumors. It consists of a full-length mRNA encoding the antineoplastic macromolecule K1.1c, encapsulated in specifically designed lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to enable efficient systemic delivery to tumor sites[1][3][5]. The mechanism involves inhibition of transcription factors and related regulators within cancer cells, leading to reduced tumor growth[2]. In preclinical mouse models with orthotopic human HCC tumors, repeated dosing with K1.1c-mRNA-LNP resulted in significant reduction in tumor growth across multiple HCC subtypes with good tolerability[3][5][6]. The technology leverages advances in mRNA therapeutics and nanoparticle delivery systems to target cancer at the molecular level.
