Overview

K73-03 is a synthetic small molecule derivative of oleanolic acid (OA) that functions as a potent inhibitor of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Identified through reverse pharmacophore screening and molecular dynamics simulations, K73-03 has demonstrated significant antineoplastic activity against pancreatic cancer, specifically targeting the ASPC-1 cell line. Its mechanism of action involves blocking the EGFR/Akt signaling pathway, which leads to a reduction in the phosphorylation of EGFR and Akt. This inhibition triggers dose-dependent apoptosis and autophagy in cancer cells. Preclinical studies in xenograft models have shown that K73-03 effectively suppresses tumor growth, highlighting its potential as a targeted therapy for pancreatic cancer.
