Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kaihoujian Spray for Children (also known as Kaihoujian Throat Spray children's type) is a traditional Chinese patent medicine (specifically a Miao ethnic minority medicine) developed and manufactured by Guizhou Sanli Pharmaceutical. It is formulated as a liquid spray for oral and pharyngeal administration. The preparation is composed of four active herbal ingredients: *Ardisia crispa* (Ba Zhao Jin Long), *Sophora tonkinensis* (Shan Dou Gen), *Cicadae Periostracum* (Chan Tui), and Menthol (Bo He Nao). It is widely used in pediatric clinical practice in China to clear heat, detoxify, reduce swelling, and relieve pain. Its primary indications include acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sore throat, stomatitis, oral ulcers, and gingival swelling and pain in children. The spray acts locally on the oral mucosa to form a thin liquid film, providing rapid anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antibacterial effects.
