Overview

Kaloderm is an allogeneic cell therapy product consisting of cultured keratinocytes derived from neonatal foreskin tissue. Developed by Tego Science, it is used as a biological dressing to treat deep second-degree burns and diabetic foot ulcers. The product works by providing protective coverage and secreting essential growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular matrix proteins that stimulate the migration of the patient's own keratinocytes and accelerate re-epithelialization. It was the world's third allogeneic cell therapy to be commercialized and is currently approved and reimbursed under public health insurance in South Korea. The product is supplied as cryopreserved sheets that are applied directly to the wound surface to reduce time to closure and improve healing outcomes.
