Kamdhudharasa

Kamdhudharasa (also known as Kamadudha Rasa) is a classical Ayurvedic herbo-mineral formulation widely used in traditional Indian medicine to treat disorders associated with an imbalance of the Pitta dosha. The formulation typically contains a blend of purified calcium-rich marine and mineral compounds—such as pearl (Mukta), coral (Pravala), conch shell (Shankha), cowrie (Kapardika), and purified red ochre (Gairika)—along with the starch extract of Giloy (Guduchi Satva). It is primarily indicated for gastrointestinal ailments including hyperacidity (Amlapitta), chronic gastritis, heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and peptic ulcers, where it acts as a natural antacid to neutralize gastric acid and reduce mucosal inflammation. Additionally, Kamdhudharasa is utilized to manage burning sensations, vertigo, nausea, vomiting, and female reproductive conditions such as leucorrhea and menorrhagia.
