Kamea 20 is a physician-dispensed topical foot cream developed by Tetra Corporation for the management of hyperkeratotic skin conditions, including severe dryness, roughness, and calluses on the feet. The formulation's primary active ingredient is urea at a 20% concentration, which acts as both a keratolytic agent and an emollient. Urea works by increasing the water-binding capacity of the stratum corneum and disrupting hydrogen bonds in keratin, thereby softening thickened skin and promoting the exfoliation of dead cells. The product is supplemented with allantoin, aloe vera, and lanolin to further condition and soothe the skin. It is primarily utilized in podiatric care for rehydrating and moisturizing hyperkeratotic tissue.
