Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KAN-003 is a preclinical synthetic microbiome-based live biotherapeutic product (LBP) developed by Kanvas Biosciences in collaboration with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The therapeutic consists of a complex microbial consortium designed to modulate the host microbiome and enhance the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors in cancer patients. KAN-003 was originally part of a preclinical immuno-oncology program at Federation Bio before its assets were acquired by Kanvas Biosciences in 2023. The development of the candidate utilizes Kanvas's proprietary spatial biology platform, which combines high-resolution imaging and artificial intelligence to map host-microbiome interactions and identify therapeutic microbial strains.
