Overview

Kang-ai Injection (KAI) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) injection derived from a combination of extracts from Astragalus (milkvetch root), Ginseng, and Sophora flavescens (Kushen). It is authorized and widely used in China as an adjuvant therapy for various cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer, and colorectal cancer. KAI is known for its beneficial effects such as enhancing immune function, reducing side effects of chemotherapy, and improving chemotherapy sensitivity. Its proposed mechanisms of action involve inhibiting tumor cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis, inducing tumor cell apoptosis, and modulating specific signaling pathways like PI3K-AKT and IL-6/STAT3.
