Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kangbingdu lozenge is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) candidate developed by the Beijing In-Cure-Ace Biological Products Research Institute for the treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infections (URTI). Formulated as a lozenge for oral dissolution, it is intended to treat the wind-heat pattern of infection, a TCM diagnostic category characterized by symptoms such as fever, sore throat, and cough. The drug is a solid-dosage adaptation of the widely used Kangbingdu (anti-viral) oral liquid formula, which typically contains heat-clearing and detoxifying botanical extracts such as Radix Isatidis and Forsythiae Fructus. It has undergone Phase II clinical evaluation in China to establish its safety and efficacy profile against both placebo and active controls.
