Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kangdu Ruanjian formula is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal decoction developed by the Hubei Provincial Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital. It is primarily investigated for the prevention and treatment of primary liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. The formula is designed based on the TCM principle of tonifying the kidney to promote liver regeneration and repair, with the proposed mechanism involving the modulation of hepatic stem cells and their microenvironment to inhibit tumor progression and promote tissue repair. In clinical trials, it is often evaluated as part of a multi-modal TCM regimen or in combination with Western comprehensive therapies to improve survival rates, quality of life, and liver function in patients with advanced liver cancer.
