Kangfuxin is a traditional Chinese medicine approved by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and is composed solely of an ethanol extract from the dried bodies of the American cockroach, *Periplaneta americana*. [1, 3, 5] It is developed and manufactured by companies such as Sichuan Good Doctor Pharmaceutical Group. The drug is primarily used for tissue repair and wound healing and is formulated as a liquid solution for oral, topical, or rectal administration. [2, 16] Clinical studies have investigated its use for various conditions, including radiotherapy-induced oral mucositis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, ulcerative colitis, burns, and other external wounds. [2, 4, 16] Its mechanism of action includes promoting blood circulation, accelerating granulation tissue growth, and reducing inflammation. [11, 14, 16] Scientific studies suggest that it protects the intestinal mucosal barrier and alleviates colitis by inhibiting the RIP1/RIP3/MLKL-mediated necroptosis pathway and the activation of the NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome signaling pathways, which reduces the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
