Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kangfuxin enteric-coated capsule is a pharmaceutical preparation containing the extract of *Periplaneta americana* (American cockroach), developed by Zhejiang Jingxin Pharmaceutical. This therapeutic is specifically designed as an enteric-coated formulation to ensure the targeted release of active components in the intestines, making it suitable for treating inflammatory bowel diseases. The extract is a complex mixture rich in active peptides, amino acids, and polyols that promote mucosal healing, stimulate the growth of granulation tissue, and exert anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects. It is currently in Phase III clinical development in China for the treatment of mild-to-moderate active ulcerative colitis, aiming to induce clinical remission and mucosal repair.
