Overview
Kanglong Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preparation developed by the Hunan Province Changsha Dongya Tumor Prevention and Treatment Research Institute for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The formulation is designed to inhibit tumor progression through multiple pathways, including the induction of apoptosis in malignant hepatocytes and the suppression of tumor-associated angiogenesis. In clinical settings within China, it is frequently administered as an oral adjuvant to Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE), where it has demonstrated potential in improving patient survival rates, enhancing immune function, and mitigating the adverse effects of chemotherapy. As a multi-component herbal therapy, its efficacy is attributed to the synergistic action of various phytochemicals that modulate the tumor microenvironment and inhibit the expression of pro-angiogenic factors.
