Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kangshuailao tablets (also known as Kangshuailao Pian or KSLP) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula developed and manufactured by Chia Tai Qingchunbao Pharmaceutical. It is approved in China under the drug approval number 国药准字B20021021 as an over-the-counter (OTC) Class B medicine. The formula is based on the Ming Dynasty imperial prescription "Yishou Yongzhen Fang" (益寿永贞方) and consists of six classic Chinese herbs: Red Ginseng (Ginseng Radix Rubra), Raw Rehmannia Root (Rehmanniae Radix), Asparagus Root (Asparagi Radix), Ophiopogon Root (Ophiopogonis Radix), Lycium Bark (Lycii Cortex), and Poria (Poria cocos). It is indicated for replenishing qi, nourishing yin, and tranquilizing the mind, and is used to treat symptoms of qi and yin deficiency in middle-aged and elderly individuals, such as fatigue, palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, hot flashes, night sweats, forgetfulness, and insomnia. Recent scientific studies, including a 2025 publication in *Phytomedicine*, have demonstrated that Kangshuailao tablets exert anti-aging effects by enhancing mitochondrial oxidative metabolism and resetting oxidative phosphorylation pathways.
