Overview
Kartilage Cross is a visco-elastic gel designed for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, developed and manufactured by Laboratoires Vivacy. It is an intra-articular injectable viscosupplement composed of highly purified, cross-linked (reticulated) hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin, formulated with mannitol as an antioxidant. The primary therapeutic action is the mechanical restoration of the rheological properties of synovial fluid, which improves joint lubrication and shock absorption. The inclusion of mannitol serves to scavenge free radicals and prevent the oxidative depolymerization of the hyaluronic acid chains, thereby increasing the residence time of the product within the joint and enabling a single-injection treatment regimen for symptomatic relief of pain and stiffness.
