Overview

KAT-002 is a small molecule anticancer therapeutic being developed by NewG Lab Pharma. It is part of the KoDiscovery Anticancer Therapeutics (KAT) pipeline, which focuses on targeting the Warburg Effect—a metabolic phenomenon where cancer cells preferentially utilize aerobic glycolysis for energy production even in the presence of oxygen. By inhibiting this metabolic pathway, KAT-002 aims to selectively disrupt the energy supply and biosynthetic requirements of malignant cells. The drug is currently in preclinical development, with its primary therapeutic focus directed toward the treatment of bladder cancer.
