Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KAT-004 is a small molecule anticancer therapeutic being developed by NewG Lab Pharma. It is part of the KoDiscovery Anticancer Therapeutics (KAT) pipeline, which focuses on targeting the Warburg Effect, a metabolic phenomenon where cancer cells preferentially undergo aerobic glycolysis even in the presence of oxygen. By inhibiting this specific metabolic pathway, KAT-004 aims to selectively disrupt the energy production and biosynthetic processes of breast cancer cells. As of the current pipeline status, KAT-004 is in the preclinical stage, with preparations underway for clinical trials in the United States and potentially Australia.
