Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KAT-008 is an investigational small molecule anticancer therapeutic being developed by NewG Lab. It is a member of the KoDiscovery Anticancer Therapeutics (KAT) pipeline, which focuses on targeting the Warburg Effect—a metabolic shift where cancer cells preferentially utilize aerobic glycolysis for energy and biomass production even in the presence of oxygen. By inhibiting this pathway, KAT-008 aims to selectively disrupt the specialized metabolic requirements of tumor cells to inhibit their growth and survival. The drug is specifically being explored for the treatment of lung cancer. Currently, KAT-008 is in the early stages of development, with its clinical phase and specific geographic development locations yet to be finalized.
