Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KB18V is a pandemic influenza vaccine candidate being developed by KBio (formerly Kentucky BioProcessing) to target H7 influenza strains. The vaccine is produced using KBio's proprietary RP3 plant-based expression platform, which utilizes *Nicotiana benthamiana* for the rapid and scalable production of recombinant proteins. This approach is designed to facilitate a quick response to emerging pandemic threats. KB18V aims to elicit immune protection against avian H7 influenza viruses, which are considered significant pandemic risks due to their potential for zoonotic transmission to humans. As of current pipeline reports, the candidate is in the discovery phase of development.
