Overview

KB302 is an investigational gene therapy being developed by Jeune, a subsidiary of Krystal Biotech, for aesthetic skin indications such as skin aging. It is based on Krystal’s HSV-1–derived, replication-defective vector platform and is designed to deliver and express type I collagen alpha 1 (COL1A1) in skin, thereby increasing dermal collagen content and improving skin quality, firmness, and wrinkles associated with intrinsic and extrinsic aging. Preclinical development focuses on localized intradermal administration to stimulate a patient’s own fibroblasts to produce new structural collagen at the treatment site, potentially providing longer-lasting correction than traditional fillers or topicals.
