KBA-1412 is a first-in-class, fully human monoclonal antibody that targets the tetraspanin CD9. It was developed based on an antibody produced by circulating B cells in the blood of a cancer survivor. The drug is designed to induce anti-tumor effects through mechanisms including antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity, stimulation of phagocytes, and activation of T lymphocytes. KBA-1412 is being developed primarily for the treatment of advanced solid tumors and melanoma, with previous development efforts in multiple myeloma and precursor B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma now discontinued. The drug is administered intravenously and has been evaluated both as monotherapy and in combination with pembrolizumab in early-phase clinical trials[1][2][3][4][5][7].
