Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KBD051 is an investigational small molecule antagonist targeting Toll-like receptors 7 and 8 (TLR7/8), currently in development by Chengdu Baiyu Jingelai Pharmaceutical. The drug is designed to treat autoimmune diseases by inhibiting the activation of TLR7 and TLR8, which are pattern recognition receptors that play a crucial role in the innate immune system. By blocking these receptors, KBD051 aims to reduce the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and Type I interferons, thereby mitigating the chronic inflammation associated with conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other immune-mediated disorders.
