Overview

KBD104409 (also known as KBD4409) is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) and Toll-like receptor 8 (TLR8), developed by Kangbaida (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chengdu Baiyu Pharmaceutical) in collaboration with Sichuan Hongmingbosi Pharmaceutical. It selectively targets TLR7 and TLR8 without significant inhibition of TLR4 or TLR9. KBD104409 is being developed for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, specifically systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). In preclinical models of SLE, the drug demonstrated significant efficacy, including prolonged survival, improved proteinuria, and reduced autoantibody levels. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development in China.
