KBL693 is an orally administered microbiome therapeutic candidate developed by KoBioLabs based on the bacterial strain *Lactobacillus crispatus* KBL693. The program has been advanced as a potential treatment for moderate to severe asthma, with a completed Phase 1 multiple-ascending-dose study in healthy volunteers reporting safety and tolerability. Public sponsor materials and patent disclosures indicate that the strain is intended to modulate immune signaling in the gut-lung axis, including suppression of mast cell degranulation and downstream reductions in eosinophilic airway inflammation; preclinical materials also describe anti-inflammatory activity in allergic disease models including atopic dermatitis.
