KBLP-004

KBLP-004 is a preclinical-stage live biotherapeutic product (LBP) and effector molecule candidate being developed by KoBioLabs for the treatment of metabolic disorders, specifically obesity and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The therapeutic is designed as a formulated microbial consortium or effector molecule that restores gut microbiome balance and regulates key metabolic pathways. Its multi-mechanistic approach includes promoting the secretion of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), enhancing glucose homeostasis, reducing liver fat accumulation, and improving intestinal barrier integrity. Additionally, KBLP-004 facilitates the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) to alleviate metabolic inflammation and insulin resistance, aiming to provide a comprehensive treatment for obesity and its associated metabolic complications.
