KBP-2506 is a small molecule antagonist of the Mas-related G-protein coupled receptor member X2 (MRGPRX2), currently in preclinical development by Keythera Biopharmaceuticals. MRGPRX2 is a G-protein coupled receptor primarily expressed on mast cells that mediates non-IgE-dependent mast cell degranulation. By blocking this receptor, KBP-2506 aims to inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators like histamine and tryptase, which are central to the pathogenesis of various allergic and inflammatory skin conditions.
