Overview

KBP-7026 is an investigational small-molecule antagonist of the chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on T-helper type 2 cells (CRTH2), also known as the prostaglandin D2 receptor 2, being developed by KBP Biosciences for respiratory and inflammatory indications such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).[3][4][5][9][15] By blocking CRTH2 signaling, KBP-7026 is designed to inhibit prostaglandin D2–mediated activation and recruitment of Th2 lymphocytes, eosinophils, and basophils, thereby reducing type 2 airway inflammation and bronchoconstriction in eosinophilic and allergic airway disease.[3][4][5][9][15] The compound has an approved Investigational New Drug (IND) application and was reported as ready to enter phase 1 clinical trials in the United States.[3][4][5][15]
