Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KC-11458 is a small molecule **motilin receptor agonist** developed as a prokinetic agent to accelerate gastric emptying, particularly targeting gastric motility disorders such as gastroparesis. Unlike some motilin agonists (like antibiotics such as erythromycin), KC-11458 does not have antibiotic properties[1]. In controlled clinical studies, KC-11458 failed to show significant improvement in gastric emptying in patients with diabetic gastroparesis and was associated with a slight worsening of upper GI symptoms[1].
