KD-019 is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting the CD19 antigen. Developed by Yan'an Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, likely in collaboration with the biotechnology company KAEDI, the therapy utilizes synthetic biology to optimize nano-vector T-cell transduction. It is designed to treat B-cell malignancies by genetically modifying a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor that recognizes and binds to CD19-positive cells. This binding triggers T-cell activation and the subsequent immune-mediated destruction of malignant B-cells. KD-019 is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphoma and B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL).
