Overview

KD-295 is an inactivated Zika virus vaccine candidate developed by KM Biologics (formerly The Chemo-Sero-Therapeutic Research Institute, also known as Kaketsuken). The vaccine is produced using cell culture-based technology and is designed to prevent Zika virus infection by eliciting a protective immune response. It is administered via intramuscular injection. A Phase 1 clinical trial (jRCT2080221412) was conducted in Japan to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of the vaccine in healthy adult males, utilizing a two-dose regimen administered 21 days apart at two different dose levels.
