KD-404

KD-404 is an investigational cell-culture-derived inactivated influenza vaccine being developed by KM Biologics Co., Ltd. for the prevention of seasonal influenza. Unlike traditional egg-based vaccines, KD-404 is produced using cell-culture technology, which is intended to improve production scalability and potentially enhance the match between the vaccine strains and circulating viruses. The vaccine is administered via subcutaneous injection. It is currently undergoing clinical evaluation in Japan, including Phase I/II studies (such as jRCT2080224115) that assess the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of various dose volumes (0.1 mL, 0.25 mL, and 0.5 mL) in healthy adult volunteers, often compared against licensed quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccines (QIV).
