Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KD-416 is a recombinant adsorbed hepatitis B vaccine being developed by KM Biologics, a subsidiary of Meiji Holdings. It is designed for the prevention of infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). The vaccine is produced using recombinant DNA technology to express the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), which is then adsorbed onto an adjuvant, typically aluminum hydroxide, to enhance the immune response. KD-416 is intended to provide a robust prophylactic option against HBV and is currently in Phase 3 clinical development in Japan.
