Overview

KD-496 is a dual-targeted CAR-T cell therapy product designed to target both NKG2DL and CLDN18.2 positive solid tumors. It represents an innovative approach in immunotherapy, particularly for advanced solid tumors like gastric cancer and pancreatic cancer. KD-496 utilizes a tandem CAR (chimeric antigen receptor) molecule that targets two tumor-associated antigens simultaneously: NKG2DL (Natural Killer Group 2D Ligand) and CLDN18.2 (Claudin 18.2). This dual-targeting approach is designed to overcome antigen escape mechanisms that often limit the effectiveness of single-targeted CAR-T therapies in solid tumors. The therapy involves collecting a patient's own T cells, genetically modifying them to express the dual-targeted CAR, and then reinfusing these modified cells back into the patient. These modified T cells can then recognize and attack cancer cells expressing either or both of the target antigens.
