KD01

KD01 is a novel oncolytic virotherapy consisting of a recombinant human type 5 adenovirus engineered with a deletion in the E3 region and designed to express truncated BID (tBID), a pro-apoptotic protein. The drug is being developed as an intratumoral or intravesical therapy for solid tumors, including advanced malignant solid neoplasms, cervical cancer, and bladder cancer. Preclinical studies demonstrate that KD01 induces tumor cell death through multiple mechanisms—direct oncolysis, immunogenic cell death, and mitochondrial apoptosis—and enhances anti-tumor immune responses by amplifying damage-associated molecular pattern release. Combination with cisplatin has shown synergistic effects in preclinical models. Early clinical trials are underway to assess safety and efficacy[2][5][7][8].
