KD2409

KD2409 is a generic version of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor agonist goserelin, developed by Kyungdong Pharmaceutical. It is formulated as a sustained-release injectable depot. Goserelin is a synthetic decapeptide analogue of naturally occurring GnRH. Upon chronic administration, KD2409 induces downregulation and desensitization of pituitary GnRH receptors, which leads to a profound suppression of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion. This results in a significant reduction in systemic levels of testosterone in men and estradiol in women, making the drug effective for treating hormone-sensitive conditions. KD2409 is primarily indicated for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer, breast cancer, and endometriosis. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development, specifically undergoing bioequivalence studies to demonstrate comparability with the reference listed drug, Zoladex.
