Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**KD5040** is an experimental modified Korean herbal medicine formula developed for Parkinson's disease research. It is prepared as a 3:1:1 mixture of Chunggantang, *Eugenia caryophyllata* and *Pogostemon cablin*. In MPTP-induced mouse models of Parkinson's disease, KD5040 showed neuroprotective and motor-function benefits; co-administration with levodopa improved motor outcomes at lower levodopa doses and reduced levodopa-induced dyskinesia measures. These findings are preclinical and do not establish clinical efficacy in people. ([pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6907061/))
