Overview

KDTC0D is a small molecule drug candidate being developed by KinDex Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of diabetes and obesity. It belongs to a class of Bitter Taste Receptor (TAS2R) modulators. TAS2Rs are a family of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) expressed in the gastrointestinal tract and other metabolic tissues; their activation is known to trigger the release of metabolic hormones such as GLP-1, PYY, and CCK, and to increase adiponectin secretion. By modulating these receptors, KDTC0D aims to improve glucose homeostasis, insulin sensitivity, and body weight regulation. The drug is part of KinDex's broader platform of TAS2R-targeting compounds, which includes the lead candidate KDT501.
