Overview
Ke Chuan Liu Wei Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic persistent bronchial asthma, specifically the 'cold type' according to TCM syndrome differentiation. The formulation is composed of six herbs: Fuzi (Aconite), Scutellaria baicalensis (Skullcap), Peach Kernel, Zhi Ma Huang (processed Ephedra), Asarum (Chinese wild ginger), and Saxifraga. It is based on the classical TCM formula Mahuang Fuzi Xixin Decoction. The drug is administered orally as a granule and is typically evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials as an add-on therapy to standard Western medicine, including inhaled corticosteroids and beta2-agonists.
