Kedbumin

Kedbumin is a 25% human albumin solution developed and manufactured by Kedrion S.p.A. and distributed by Kedrion Biopharma. As a plasma-derived biologic protein obtained from pooled human plasma, it is indicated for the restoration and maintenance of circulating blood volume in conditions where volume deficiency is demonstrated and colloid use is appropriate. Key indications include hypovolemia, hypoalbuminemia, prevention of central volume depletion after paracentesis due to cirrhotic ascites, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), burns, hemodialysis, and cardiopulmonary bypass procedures. The drug works by increasing plasma oncotic pressure, which facilitates the movement of fluid from the interstitial space into the intravascular compartment.
